Ethiopia Sidama Bensa Hamasho GR1 Washed

This coffee is processed in the Hamasho station in the Sidama Bensa region. Hamasho represents one of the highest altitudes in Ethiopia, between 2260 and 2360 m.a.s.l. 1500 farmers from the Bombe mountains who organize themselves and bring their coffees to the processing station. The beans are very dense, the result of slow maturation at high altitude.

This coffee ferments for approximately 72 hours and is then washed again with fresh water along the channels to remove the remaining mucilage. Drying lasts between 12 and 15 days and during sunny hours the coffee is covered to avoid being exposed to overdrying.

These harvests have often been recognized in the Cup of Excellence, obtaining a seventh place in 2020, an eighth place in 2021 and then an incredible second place in 2022.
