UGANDA SIRONKO MBALE MOUNT ELGON
Norman Mukuru bases his business on research and traceability. His farm is at the foot of Mount Elgon, in the Sironko District, Mbale. The Coffee Yard is the processing station that receives Norman’s coffee and is where the coffee begins the drying process. Once the coffee arrives at the processing station it undergoes an initial manual sorting process, after which once the drying process begins, the drupes are once again sorted based on moisture content and color in order to have a completely uniform crop. The coffee is dried for a total of 21 days.
